I was so happy to be asked to represent Music Together at the Earth Celebration festival on Sado Island this summer. The wonderful 3 day festival is held every year by the internationally famous Japanese drumming group KODO.
The main focus of the festival is the evening concerts performed by KODO and special guests but during the day there are many small outdoor concerts, workshops and other events. I offered four Music Together classes over 2 days at the festival and we had an excellent time! It was great fun meeting families from all over Japan and making music with them. It was wonderful to see so many families enjoying the festival together and seeing how music can really strengthen the bond between parents and children.

My own daughter hasn't stopped asking to listen to our KODO CD since we got home! We often get out our own drums and play along with the CD.
